C71500

C71500 copper-nickel is known as 70/30 copper-nickel as it is comprised of 30% nickel. They have a standard designations such as ASME SB466 and ASTM B466.

The c71500 (70/30) is best suited in areas of high pressures and temperatures combined with destructive turbulence and high velocity.

These materials have small iron content of up to 0.5%. That’s the reason why c71500 alloy gives an extraordinary stress corrosion cracking and resistance to general corrosion.

These unique features make c71500 alloy ideal and suitable for the industrial and marine industries. C71500 finds it great applications for condensers, seawater piping, power plants, and exchanger shells.

Additionally, C71500 has the best resistance of any of the copper alloys to impingement attack and to corrosion from most acids and water.

C71500 is being used in severe corrosive conditions in which service lives longer than those of other copper alloys are desired.

C71500 is available in plate, sheet, pipe, rod, fittings, tube, and flanges. The material is known for its workability, moderate strength, weldability, and formability.

At Shihang, we are experts in manufacturing c71500 flanges, c71500 pipe fittings, and c71500 pipes with its designation standards and specifications.

How do you Test Quality of C71500?

Quality testing methods for C71500 include:

· Non-destructive Test

Different tests under this determine the quality of your C71500 without affecting its properties.

These tests are critical when determining how this material reacts with other material.

It helps in fabrication processes such as welding.

· Expansion Test

This test analyzes the maximum temperature that your material can handle without breaking up.

The results help to understand the type of fluid that can flow in C71500 products like tubes and pipes.

· Hydrostatic Test

This test analyzes the leaking properties of your C71500 material.

This is essential in the fabrication of products like tubes and pipes.

· Flattening Test

Flattening test helps in understanding the maximum possible weight that you can place on this material without flattening out.

It helps in understanding the installation position and location of products like pipes and tubes.

· Residual Stress Test

The importance of this test is to get how this material reacts to forces hitting and compactness.

It helps in the evaluation of the functioning of this material.

How do you Fabricate C71500?

Standard fabrication method when using C71500 material include:

· Cutting

Cutting involves the use of various cutting methods aimed at reducing the size of the C71500 material.

A perfect size is ideal for use in manufacturing different sizes and designs of your products.

Cutting options can either be manual or automatic.

Such options include chiselling, sawing, shearing, torching, and use of laser machine.

· Welding

Welding aims to join C71500 material parts to other parts or materials.

Conventional methods of welding include TIG welding, arc welding, stick welding and MIG welding.

· Bending

Bending C71500 material aims at getting the right design for your product.

You can do this by hammering, the use of tube benders, and press brakes.

· Machining

Machining removes excess C71500 material from the final product.

This gives it the perfect shape, design and size it requires for proper functioning.

The methods of machining include milling, drilling and turning.

· Tucking

This process involves shrinking the thickness of your C71500 material by exerting force.

You can either use a spade hammer or a crevice to achieve your desired tucking process.

· Stamping

This is the process of creating dents on your C71500 material.

It is best for labelling of your material for the final product.

You can achieve stamping by using either hydraulic and mechanical stamping presses.

How do you Enhance the Strength of C71500?

C71500 Pipes

There are two main methods you can use to increase the strength of C71500.

They are cold working and hardening.

The types of hardening available are transformation hardening, solid-solution hardening and precipitation hardening.

Precipitation hardening forms a high strength C71500 material.

Solid-solution hardening enhances the structural strength of your C71500 material.

This is through the addition of other metals to your C71500.

Transformational hardening is the standard technique of hardening your C71500 material.

This process involves several heating processes which aim to increases its strength and flexibility.

The first step is to heat the material at a given temperature.

This is followed by quenching which helps in rapid cooling of the material.

Rapid cooling helps in maintaining the structure of the material while increasing its strength.

The last step is heating the material at a temperature of less than one degree.

This reduces material brittleness.

What are the Limitations of using C71500?

The high cost associated with purchasing C71500 material is its main limitation.
